Malbranque still the man?

Image for Malbranque still the man?

Over 60% of City fans responding to mcfconline’s most recent poll made their feelings clear as to who they would like to see the club sign in the transfer window.

Steed Malbranque was that overwhelming favourite amongst blues with Danny Murphy coming a distant second. Support for Dean Ashton had tailed off well before he signed for West Ham, an indication that maybe the Hammers have payed over the top.

My own opinion is that Malbranque is unlikely to sign for City at this moment in time. Despite Liverpool’s interest in the player waning, he seems more than happy to play his part in Fulham’s relegation scrap. Good luck to the man for showing a degree of loyalty to his employers in this day and age I say.

Meanwhile City’s lack of activity in the market continues to give cause for concern. Painfully evident on Saturday was the lack of quality and consistency in a misfiring squad. It needs freshening up sooner rather than later …. for gods sake even Everton are only 2 points behind us now. Time for some of that SWP kitty to be spent perhaps?
