Reports suggest that Manchester City target Steed Malbranque will snub any advances and sign a new 3 year deal at Fulham.

The 25 year old French midfielder has had a few run ins with Chris Coleman but rejected a £3.5million move to Man City in the summer. Rumours were suggesting Pearce would try again in the January transfer window.

Fulham Captain Luis Boa Morte last week said: ‘His form has been terrific this season, he scored two great goals against Manchester City and I’m really pleased for him. I’ve been playing with Steed for a few years now, and we train almost every day together. Steed is a fabulous player and is very important for our team.’

So, it looks like Pearce will have to look elsewhere with Finnish midfielder Tuomas Haapala being one possible option as the player is being watched during a one week trial at City. The 26 year old, who got his first cap for Finland against Estonia, failed to gain a move to Dutch club Willem II who also gave him a trial.
