According to a report from Spanish outlet SoccerLink via Super Deporte, Man City are among the ‘main candidates‘ to sign Valencia winger Ferran Torres – with both Pep Guardiola and sporting director Txiki Begiristain keeping tabs on the player.
Torres, who has managed to bag four goals and four assists over 20 La Liga starts this campaign, is emerging as a prime target to replace unsettled winger Leroy Sane if he opts to make the move to Bayern Munich.
Indeed, as per this update, both Guardiola and Begiristain have put Torres on their ‘shortlist‘ of candidates to replace Sane – with the pair allegedly conceding defeat over his future and accepting the notion he may well be off to Bavaria.
As well as City, who ‘stand out‘ as suitors, Juventus are also in the running for Torres’ signature – but the player also hasn’t ruled out simply putting pen to paper on a contract extension with current club Valencia.
In total, the Sky Blues have apparently lodged four ideal Sane successors as potential targets, with Torres leading the pack ahead of other names like Adama Traore, Kingsley Coman and Leon Bailey.
Who do you think should replace Sane?
Given our surfaced intrigue in the Spaniard, going by his WhoScored stats, it’s not hard to see why Guardiola and co view him as Sane’s ideal replacement.
Taking this into account, and his reduced €55 million (£49.3 million) valuation according to a study from the CIES Football Observatory, Torres may well be worth the swoop.
