According to a report from Foot Mercato, Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has been contacted by Man City ahead of a potential move – with the Frenchman potentially seen as a player who can replicate want-away star Leroy Sane.

Coman, who has started 17 Bundesliga games for the league leaders this season, scoring four goals and assisting three others, has previously worked under City boss Pep Guardiola in Bavaria and looks now to be at the centre of interests.

Should City sign Coman as Sane's successor?

As well as Coman, City have their eyes on fellow Bayern midfielder Thiago Alcantara who Guardiola has also coached at both Barca and Bayern – with the Sky Blues now eyeing a potential double-swoop ahead of our bid to regain the Premier League crown next season.

In particular, winger Coman is arguably the more touted of the pair to make an Etihad move with Sane on the verge of a move in the opposite direction, especially given his potential in replicating the attacker’s influence.

Manchester Evening News journalist Joe Donnohue has described Coman as the perfect solution to City’s conundrum over Sane – and it’s not hard to see why given his accolades.

According to WhoScored, the attacker has averaged more completed dribbles than any Sky Blue player has this season – potentially earmarking him as a perfect Sane replacement.

On top of these impressive numbers, the World Cup winner has also been described as ‘solid gold‘ by Bayern hero Thomas Muller.

Whether or not City bid in future for the £36 million-valued ace remains to be seen, but it’s clear the transfer could hold potential.
