According to a report from the Telegraph, Bayern Munich are weighing up a revised £50 million bid for Man City winger Leroy Sane this summer – with director of football Txiki Begiristain potentially awaiting an official offer to begin negotiations over his sale.
Sane, who has scored 39 goals and assisted 45 others from the wing since putting pen to paper on a deal from Schalke back in 2016, is currently at the centre of a tug-of-war between Bayern and the Sky Blues as both clubs decide how to settle on a potential transfer fee.
The German winger, despite impressing last season when given the opportunity, has refused to extend his current deal at the Etihad Stadium – with interest from the Bavarian giants hotting up for over a year.
Should City let Sane go for £50 million?
Yes, just get rid already
No way, £100 million and not a penny less
The 24-year-old has just one year left on his contract with us, and as recent global events put the market into question when it comes to transfer fees, City may be left with little choice but to sell Sane for a relatively low amount compared to the £100 million price they reportedly planned.
Speaking to BT Sport via the Manchester Evening News, ex-rival defender Rio Ferdinand lauded the ‘fantastic’ attacker, and it’s clear to see why given last season’s exploits.
Sane scored a crucial winner at home to Liverpool which arguably set us on course to retain our Premier League crown, with some City supporters potentially at odds that he may be about to depart Eastlands.
