Man City could land extra £8.5m on 23 y/o they sold in May

Manchester City sold Pedro Porro to Sporting over the summer after his two-season loan spell in Portugal, but Record (h/t Daily Express) say they could be in line to make some more money from the 23-year-old as Tottenham Hotspur are one of many clubs considering a move.

Porro spent three years on the books at City but never made an appearance as he was loaned out every season (Real Valladolid in 2019/20, Sporting in 2020/21 and 2021/22) rather than being given a chance in the first-team. But it does appear he has potential and a lot of sides are showing an interest.

Record say Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus could challenge Spurs to Porro’s signature, but Sporting are holding out for £39m. Should a deal for that price get over the line, City will bag £8.5m due to a 30% sell-on fee agreed when he was sold.

The Spanish international has made 89 appearances in all competitions for Sporting, scoring nine goals with 16 assists. Porro never stood a chance of dethroning Kyle Walker or Joao Cancelo at the Etihad but is making a name for himself at the Estádio José Alvalade.
