Pep Guardiola isn’t short of strikers with Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez at his disposal, but he’s lacking depth in case of injury. Haaland will miss Manchester City’s Champions League clash with Sevilla, so Alvarez will likely get the nod at the Etihad Stadium.
There won’t be another striker on the bench, however, as Pep doesn’t have a third natural centre-forward in the first-team after selling Gabriel Jesus, so City could do with more cover. Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko might be the solution to their problem, says Wayne Veysey of Football Insider.

The 17-year-old joined Dortmund from St Pauli in 2016 and has gone on to score 90 goals with 16 assists from 56 games for the U17s, scored 51 goals with 11 assists from 32 games for the U19s, one goal from two games for the B team and nine goals with eight assists from 55 games for the first-team.
Moukoko has made 11/12 Bundesliga appearances this season, scoring more goals (4) than Kevin De Bruyne (3) while boasting more assists (4) than Phil Foden (3), so he’d greatly improve the City attack. Liverpool are showing an interest and Dortmund rate him highly, so he won’t be an easy acquisition.
The German U21 international is out of contract at the end of the season and had been reluctant to put pen to paper on a new deal unless given a good amount of first-team football, so Dortmund might be forced to cash in early rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer.
