Man City given transfer boost in pursuit of 19 y/o World Cup star

|

Manchester City could lose Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva at the end of the season as the former is out of contract in the coming months while the latter has shown an interest in joining Barcelona.

Pep Guardiola has Jude Bellingham in mind to replace the pair and transfer expert Ekrem Konur of Fichajes says City are leading the race alongside Real Madrid for his signature.

Bellingham joined Borussia Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020 and has gone on to make 112 appearances in all competitions, scoring 19 goals with 21 assists.

The 19-year-old already had a great reputation and was tipped to become one of the best midfielders in Europe after impressing at Dortmund, but Bellingham has been outstanding at the World Cup so an approach from a European giant might come even quicker.

Bellingham has made four appearances in the tournament, scoring one goal with one assist. The England international has created three chances, made six successful dribbles, averaged 53.3 passes per game with 93% completed, made 11 tackles and had four interceptions.

He’s a complete midfielder who can turnover the ball and contribute goals at the other end, but the 19-year-old won’t come cheap – Dortmund reportedly want £130m.
