According to a report from ESPN, Man City lead the race to sign Wolves star Adama Traore alongside Serie A front runners Juventus – with both clubs leapfrogging Barcelona as they prepare a move for the 24-year-old ‘phenomenon‘.
Who should replace Leroy Sane?
The Spaniard, who has often humbled City this season, scoring a brace at the Etihad Stadium last year before sparking a 3-2 comeback at Molineux during the festive period, is now attracting our attention as we scour the market for a potential Leroy Sane successor.
Sane recently put pen-to-paper on a deal with Bayern Munich after a year-long transfer saga, prompting Pep Guardiola and co to allegedly evaluate future attacking options who can replicate his impact.
As per ESPN, Traore is one of those names, with City and Juventus firmly in the lead for his signature amid an impending transfer battle if Wolves fail to qualify for the Champions League at the end of this season.
Along with Burnley’s Dwight McNeil, Guardiola has personally outlined Traore as one of his key attacking targets according to these reports, especially considering he is only behind Kevin De Bruyne in terms of assists.
If City manage to land the attacker, it could turn many heads as we prepare for next year’s title challenge.
