Man City must pay €50m and €6.5m-a-year to sign ‘fantastic’ playmaker

Manchester City have been linked with a move for Isco and Vital Man City suggested the Real Madrid playmaker could be a good option when Bernardo Silva was struggling for consistency, but Mundo Deportivo’s (h/t Sport Witness) latest update suggests they could avoid him due to Real’s lofty demands – €50m transfer fee for the €6.5m-a-year playmaker.

Isco has an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu as he’s been short of form and playing time this season. Although Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti called the 28-year-old a “fantastic player” in November amid rumours he was coming the Premier League, the truth is that Isco has made 11 appearances in all competitions, failing to score and supplying one assist.

Zinedine Zidane has preferred Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Federico Valverde and Casemiro while Martin Odegaard is providing stiff competition in the CAM role. It’s hard to see City paying €50m to sign the Spaniard before the January transfer window shuts, however, so Real may need to lower their demands.

Isco doesn’t appear to be worth the money given the lack of activity and goal output, otherwise he’d be a regular in Real’s starting eleven.
