Manchester City tore West Ham United a new backside at the London Stadium last night and this is how I rated our players.

Player Ratings

Willy Caballero 6
Had little to do over the course of the game except the odd ball punch and a save from Antonio.

Gael Clichy 6.5
A quiet evening apart from setting up Silva for an early chance.

John Stones 7.5
A tad unsteady at times with his distribution but kept Antonio and Carroll out of the limelight. An extra half a point for his first City goal.

Bacary Sagna 8
Made excellent runs down the right flank – he coasted through this game and provided the perfect cross to help Nordtveit to toe the ball past his own keeper.

Nicolas Otamendi 7
Battled Carroll in the air and kept Antonio in his place.

Kevin De Bruyne 6.5
Dropped back into central midfield when Zabaleta pushed forward. By his standards he had a fairly quiet game.

Yaya Toure 8
It’s like having a new player. The lad is rejuvenated and interested in playing again. Made no mistake with the penalty (when was the last time he missed one?) and on hand for the fourth goal. An excellent attitude and workrate – yippee!

David Silva 9
MOTM – Pulled the strings and oozed machismo – scored the third with ease having put Adrian on his backside before slotting home. The Merlin is out of this world.

Pablo Zabaleta 8
Won the penalty (yes, it was defo a pen). Used the ball well and made some cracking runs into the box. A rare start in the midfield.

Raheem Sterling 8.8
His pace destroyed the Hammers defence by running rings round them. Made a goal, forced an own goal and still had the time to kick some bootee. Sterling work Raheem.

Sergio Aguero 7.8
Scored to make Kun City’s third all-time scorer, for now. His passing and link-up play was sublime.

Nolito 6
For Silva 58.

Aleix Garcia 6
For De Bruyne 68.
For Toure 75 – great to see him involved following his injury.
