According to Sky Sports, Oleksandr Zinchenko has an uncertain future at Manchester City. The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer and could have been replaced by Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico.

Zinchenko has struggled for playing time at the Etihad Stadium and may have considered a move away before the transfer window shut, but Pep Guardiola has put an end to transfer talk with his latest comments.

When asked if the £21.6m-rated Ukrainian international would be staying at City this summer, Manchester Evening News say that Guardiola replied: “Yep.”

Zinchenko has made 68 appearances in all competitions since joining the Sky Blues from Ufa in 2016, scoring two goals with five assists, but he’s yet to play a single minute of football this season.

The left-back has only made the matchday squad once and finds himself behind Benjamin Mendy in the pecking order. With City being linked with Tagliafico, Zinchenko could be pushed out of the first-team.

Mundo Deportivo said he was offered to Barcelona, but it doesn’t appear that he’ll be granted a departure. Whether that means no deal with Ajax is unknown, however, as there are still three days remaining in the transfer window.
