The England international, who boasts 205 appearances in all competitions for West Ham, is an excellent ball player (53 passes per game) (88.2% pass completion) and adept at turning over possession (2.9 tackles per game) (1.8 interceptions per game), so it’s easy to see why City would be keen.

He won’t come cheap, however, as David Moyes has slapped a £150m price tag on his head in the past. And while Rice would be a great addition to City’s midfield, it’s hard to see Guardiola sanctioning the move while Phillips is still on the books.
