And we’re here. In last week’s preview I said Andy Carroll hadn’t scored and so he would score – he duly did but what I didn’t legislate for the absolute appalling performance from our team. It made the Wolves away performance look like Barca v Real Madrid.

And so because of the manner of defeat, because Carlos is injured, Dzeko looks as threatening as a tube of toothpaste, I have not been in the best frame of mind to approach this.

So please forgive me if this doesn’t follow the usual format, but let’s face it a Wembley semi-final against the Evil Empire is not usual.

Reasons why we will win

They have all used all their luck in the past two seasons against us, the law of averages say after six defeats and one draw in the last eight derbies we are due a win, the players want to make history, we the fans will roar them on, neutral venue – there won’t be 72,000 scum fans shouting for a penalty or more time.

Reasons why we won’t win

They know how to win important games, they try to win games, they have experience of these games, we haven’t got Carlos Tevez, they have a depth to their will to win we have yet to match.

City have injury doubts about Micah and Tevez we know is definitely out.

They have an injury doubt about Rafael (not a teenage mutant turtle) and we know the lovable Scouse scamp is out.
