VMC Claims Victory
VMC claimed victory in the Members League points tally for March with in excess of 25,000 points. Our nearest rivals, Tottenham and Aston Villa were 5,000 points behind. This is the first time we have ever won the title, something I’m sure no one ever wants to relinquish. Well done to over 50 members who contributed.
Face-lift
Fingers crossed, April will see changes to our front-page. Boffins (Andy to be precise) have been busy behind the scenes designing our new style main page. There will be new features as well as easier site navigation. The exact launch date is yet to be decided.
Spreading The Word
Radio Tameside
Short commercials have been booked for the first three days of next week, courtesy of alphieblues donation. As agreed, I have chipped in a similar amount of money and listeners to the station will hear no less than six adverts throughout Thursday 9 April – Hamburg v City.
This is the first time we have ever ventured into the commercial world. We are putting our money were our mouth is just to see if more City fans visit our site. Proof will be in the pudding I guess.
Channel M
Regular visitors will know that I am trying to raise donations towards sponsoring Channel M’s City Legend Debate Show.
Their sales manager contacted me earlier this morning and told me that they love the look of our site and are happy to reduce their initial fee. Their asking price is now £300 per show, which means to sponsor the last four programmes of the season, will cost £1,200 plus VAT. I have to give them a final answer by Friday 7 April 2009. Should we give them the green light they also promise other features, (confidential at this time) free of charge.
Donations have been very slow and therefore if we don’t reach the total figure, any money raised with go into other forms of advertising.

This will be the first time that any independent City website has ventured into the world of mass advertising. I am sure the future knock-on efforts will be massive but as the saying goes – we have to be in it to win it.
