Man City eye £100m-rated man with more dribbles than Richarlison and Jack Grealish

According to Spanish publication Sport, Manchester City are still interested in Adama Traore and may have to battle Manchester United and Liverpool for his signature. The 24-year-old is coming off the back of a prolific campaign at Wolverhampton Wanderers, but it’s unlikely he’d be granted a departure after recently signing a new deal.

Traore has made 96 appearances in all competitions since joining Wolves from Middlesbrough in 2018, scoring seven goals with 15 assists. The Spanish international’s most impressive top-flight season came in 2019/20 where Traore scored four goals and made nine assists in 37 Premier League games.

He created 48 chances, made 184/247 successful dribbles (74.5%), had 43 shots with 30% hitting the target, whipped in 183 crosses with 24% finding a teammate, won 77 free-kicks and averaged a tackle (33) or interception (13) every 57 minutes. This season, Traore has made the most successful dribbles (23) in the Premier League, more than Richarlison (16) and Jack Grealish (13), so it’s easy to see why he’s still on our radar.

Whether we make a move for the £100m-rated wide-man remains to be seen, however, as we’ve got enough depth in his position – Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres. It’s also a waste of time as Wolves have tied him down to a contract extension on lucrative wages.
