Man City’s 5ft 9in midfielder will return to face Burnley on Saturday

Manchester City have confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne will return to face Burnley on Saturday. The 29-year-old missed our Champions League win over Olympiacos on Wednesday as he was being rested by Pep Guardiola, but De Bruyne should be in line to start over the weekend.

In his absence, we opted for a midfield of Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva but can’t afford to take any chances on Saturday. We’re 13th in the Premier League table and are coming off the back of a domestic defeat, so we desperately need a result.

De Bruyne will make a difference. The 5ft 9in Belgian international has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal with seven assists, so I can’t see Guardiola leaving him out. We’re already eight points adrift of the league leaders and haven’t scored more than one goal a game in our last six, so the more creativity on the pitch the better.

Guardiola has a fully fit squad for Burnley’s visit, so here’s hoping we can get our pursuit of the Premier League title back on track.

In other news, Nathan Ake has returned from injury ahead of Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Burnley
