Report: Man City must pay £100m and £300k p/w for 20 y/o with more goals than Messi and Ronaldo

Manchester City are considering Erling Haaland as a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero but may have to battle Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid for his signature.

The 20-year-old has become one of the best strikers in Europe since joining Borussia Dortmund in 2019, but it appears he won’t be granted a departure unless his asking price and personal demands are met.

According to the Daily Star, Dortmund are requesting £100m for Haaland who has wage demands of £300k-per-week/£15.6m-a-year. Considering he doesn’t turn 21 until July and has already scored 92 goals in 136 games (Transfermarkt), the Norwegian international may be worth the outlay.

The 20-year-old bagged 20 goals in 50 games for Molde FK (2017 – 2019), 27 goals in 29 games for Red Bull Salzburg (2019 – 2020) and has 43 goals from 43 games for Dortmund (2020 – present) (Transfermarkt).

This season, Haaland has scored 17 goals in as many Bundesliga games, more than Lionel Messi’s 15 in 20 for Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo’s 16 in 18 for Juventus (WhoScored), so his future looks bright.

Whether City can beat out competition from United, Chelsea and Real remains to be seen, however.
