Manchester City have been linked with many midfielders over the summer transfer window, however, none of them would match George Evans when it comes to passion for The Champions. George’s story is a fascinating read for any true Blue. His father (the man with the thunderbolt shot) Ronnie Evans, made his debut for City at Maine Road, against Huddersfield Town in 1975 (The year after Denis Law had relegated Manchester United with that famous back heel).

Having been at City since the age of four, George has obviously impressed the coaching staff, year after year, as he is now in the Elite development squad. Evans has not only impressed the City coaches; the England setup has also spotted his talent and ability. George’s greatest achievement to date is surely representing The Three Lions at the Under 17 World Cup.

After featuring for The Blues this year in pre-season friendlies, Evans finally has some First team experience under his belt and I have no doubt that given time, George’s dream will come true and he will play for City in the Premier League. But for the foreseeable future George will be playing for Manchester City’s Elite Development Squad at Ewen Fields.
