Man City could agree £11m deal to sell 24 y/o to PL rivals after successful loan

Jack Harrison has made his feelings clear about a permanent move to Leeds United, telling Leeds Live in June 2020 that he wanted to stay at Elland Road while revealing to Grant Wahl’s Futbol Podcast earlier this month that a deal was in place for him to stay with the Whites.

Phil Hay of The Athletic says Manchester City are ‘poised’ to sell Harrison for £11m to Leeds, so a deal is nearly over the line. The 24-year-old has made a total of 116 appearances in two loan spells at Elland Road, scoring 16 goals and supplying 16 assists (Transfermarkt).

Harrison joined City from New York City FC for £3.6m in January 2018 but hasn’t made an appearance for the Sky Blues. He was loaned out to Middlesbrough immediately after his arrival to the Etihad Stadium and then spent two seasons with Leeds (Transfermarkt).

He returned to West Yorkshire just a month after his loan ended in 2020 and has had a hand in 10 goals from 24 Premier League games, so he’s making a real impact in the Premier League. Leeds might consider paying £11m a bargain for Harrison given his form, so they should be pleased with the deal.

City have made back the money spent, won’t have lost a lot from his wages due to the loan moves away and should have turned in a decent profit, so they’ll be somewhat content with the business. Harrison didn’t stand a chance of dethroning Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres and Riyad Mahrez, so a sale suits all parties.
