Man City’s highly-rated 5ft 9in player could leave – opinion

According to Manchester Evening News, Joel Latibeaudiere could be on his way out of Manchester City amid interest from Norwich City and Reading who want the 20-year-old on a season-long loan.

Latibeaudiere finds himself behind Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte, Eric Garcia and John Stones in the pecking order under Pep Guardiola and will surely jump at the chance to get first-team football elsewhere.

The highly-rated England U20 international has made 27 appearances for our U18s and 28 appearances for our U23s but is yet to feature in our first-team. Latibeaudiere was loaned out to FC Twente last season to get competitive football and went on to make six appearances in all competitions.

Manchester Evening News say the centre-back will be granted another temporary departure from the Etihad Stadium before the Football League transfer window shuts on October 16, but it remains to be seen which club he’ll join.

Norwich loaned out Timm Klose to FC Basel, released Sean Raggett and sold Ben Godfrey to Everton, so they have a fervent need for a central defender. Reading aren’t lacking depth at the back with Liam Moore, Michael Morrison, Tom McIntyre, Tom Holmes and Lewis Gibson, so time will tell if they push for a move.
