Man City want €80m South Korean wonderkid with more chances created than Sterling

According to La Razon, Manchester City are interested in Kang-in Lee but may have to pay a tidy sum to procure his signature. The 19-year-old has been a regular at Valencia since 2019 but could be on his way out in January or the following summer as his relationship with Javi Gracia is strained.

Lee doesn’t believe he has the faith of his manager and is considering his future at the Mestalla Stadium. La Razon say the South Korean international is unwilling to sign a new contract beyond 2022 and Valencia are willing to listen to offers.

Lee joined Los Che from School Team SK in 2011 and has gone on to make 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals with three assists. The 19-year-old has made nine La Liga appearances this season, bagging three assists, creating 14 chances, making 9/10 successful dribbles (90%) and whipping in 14 crosses with 21.4% finding a teammate.

He’s created more chances in the league than Raheem Sterling (9), Ferran Torres (5) and Gabriel Jesus (5), so he might be a good addition to the squad. One issue is price, however. La Razon say Lee has an €80m release clause, although Valencia are sure to accept less money if they’re unable to tie him down to a new deal.
