According to Le Parisien, Manchester City are interested in Kylian Mbappe and may have to battle Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, Juventus and Barcelona to procure his signature.

The 22-year-old has an uncertain future at Paris Saint-Germain as his contract is up in 2022, so a host of European giants are trying to capitalise on the situation. Le Parisien say City will have to pay a tidy sum, however.

PSG are requesting €200m (£173m) for Mbappe who is asking for €30m-a-year/€576k-per-week (£25.95m-a-year/£498.1k-per-week) in wages, so he’d by the Sky Blues’ most expensive signing and highest-paid player by some distance.

Manchester City are scouring the transfer market for a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero whose contract is up in the coming months. The Premier League leaders have been linked with Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Danny Ings among others, but Mbappe would be a world-class acquisition.

He’s scored 138 goals and made 75 assists in 213 career appearances, bagging 21 goals and nine assists in 29 games for PSG this season. The French international would certainly improve City’s attack, but it remains to be seen if any club has the money to sign him.
