Man City eye £63m-rated striker with more goals than Jesus and Sterling put together

|

According to FC Inter News, Manchester City are monitoring the situation of Lautaro Martínez at Inter Milan, as Pep Guardiola eyes a potential replacement for Sergio Aguero. His contract is up in 2021, so Martinez could pick up where Aguero left off next year.

The 23-year-old has been in fine form for the Nerazzurri this season, but his future is uncertain due to interest from us, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Inter are desperate to tie him down to a long-term, but Guardiola rates him highly and should be given a lot of money to sign Aguero’s eventual heir.

Martinez has gone on to make 96 appearances in all competitions since joining Inter from Racing in 2018, scoring 36 goals with 10 assists. This season, the Argentine international has netted six goals and made two assists in 12 games across the board. Martinez has even scored 11 goals and made two assists in 21 games for his country.

With five goals from eight Serie A games this season, the £63m-rated striker has scored more domestically than Gabriel Jesus (2) and Raheem Sterling (2) put together. We’ve scored one or less goals in each of our last six league games too, so Martinez would be a brilliant addition if we could get him.
