Pep Guardiola has Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva who can operate in a wide role, but Goal say Manchester City are planning for the future.
The Sky Blues reportedly have their eye on the ‘talented’ Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty and may have to battle Manchester United, Juventus, FC Porto and Bayern Munich for his signature.

The 16-year-old is said to have ‘technical skills’ beyond his age, so his future is bright. Marshall-Rutty has already made his MLS debut too, coming off the bench in Toronto’s 5-0 defeat to Philadelphia in October 2020 while making the matchday squad five more times (Transfermarkt), so he’s not a secret.
Not only is Marshall-Rutty Toronto’s youngest debutant, Goal say he’s also been called up to Canada’s senior national team. Man City understandably have stiff competition to lure the highly-rated wide-man to the Etihad Stadium, but Pep Guardiola might be key.
The 50-year-old coach has given five teenagers playing time this season – Cole Palmer (two appearances), Liam Delap (three appearances), Tommy Doyle (four appearances), Adrian Bernabe (one appearance) and Taylor Harwood-Bellis (four appearance) (Transfermarkt) – so Marshall-Rutty might feel his career could flourish under Pep.
Time will tell, however, as Toronto aren’t fielding any offers and won’t want to let him go so soon.
