Kevin De Bruyne rejected a new contract in January after getting annoyed with Manchester City’s slow negotiations, but Paul Hirst of The Times says the 29-year-old has been ‘offered’ a new deal that could land him a ‘rise in salary’ from £310k-per-week.

De Bruyne has two years remaining on his deal at the Etihad Stadium but could be signing a new contract that keeps him in Manchester beyond 2023. The Times say the Sky Blues’ latest offer should be more acceptable.
City have tied down Ilkay Gundogan, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva and Aymeric Laporte to new deals in the last two years (Transfermarkt) and want De Bruyne at the Etihad for the peak years of his career.
Scott Carson, Eric Garcia, Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero are out of contract this summer while John Stones and Philippe Sandler could be free agents in 2022, so the club need to resolve the futures of a number of players.
It isn’t as urgent that De Bruyne’s deal is extended given the time remaining on his contract, but The Times say the club want to reward him for his form and influence under Pep Guardiola. He’s scored five goals and made 16 assists in 29 appearances this season (Transfermarkt).
