Man City eye £20m man with more goals and assists than Sterling and De Bruyne

According to 90min, Manchester City are scouting Patson Daka and may have to battle Arsenal and more than 20 other clubs to procure his signature. The 22-year-old has been in fine form at RB Leipzig over the last 12 months and is expected to move on in 2021 due to all the interest across Europe.

Daka joined Leipzig from Kafue Celtic in 2017 and has gone on to make 94 appearances in all competitions, scoring 46 goals with 20 assists. The Zambian international made a name for himself last season with 27 goals and 12 assists in 45 games, and he’s picked up where he left off this campaign – 12 goals and five assists in 11 games across the board.

Daka has scored more goals (12) than our top scorer Raheem Sterling (5) and boasts more assists (5) than the 25-year-old (4) and Kevin De Bruyne (3), so it’s easy to see why we’re interested. 90min say we’re only scouting him and haven’t lodged an official bid, however, so time will tell if he’s actually being lined up to replace Sergio Aguero.

We’ll have to offer in excess of £20m to get Leipzig’s attention, so should we bite in January or next summer?
