Sergio Aguero is out of contract this summer and will leave Manchester City on a free transfer as things stand. The Sky Blues are keen to extend his deal beyond 2021 but have yet to make any progress and even Aguero doesn’t know where his future lies.

The 32-year-old was quizzed about his future in an interview with Ibai on Twitch and replied: “I don’t know what’s going to happen. The first thing that I want to do is play football. Once I start playing, then I will see what decision I have to take.

“I don’t know where I am going to go at the end of the year. I don’t have an idea. I hope that I can continue (playing) for a few more years.” Aguero has endured a difficult season due to injury and Covid-19, limiting him to only 260 minutes of playing time across the board (Transfermarkt).

The Argentine international has still scored two goals in nine games but hasn’t played more than three games in a row. Aguero was an unused substitute in City’s 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur and 3-1 win over Everton, so he’s returned to fitness and could soon be back out on the pitch.

There’s believed to be a contract offer on the table for Aguero if he wishes to stay, but the 32-year-old has spoken in favour of returning to Argentina or Spain, so this may well be his last season at the Etihad.
