Manchester City Women beat Birmingham City Ladies yesterday after Lucy Bronze netted from a header in extra-time to help win the 2016 Continental Cup for a second successive season.

A record 4,214 Academy Stadium crowd witnessed a ding-dong battle between both sides, but in the end Nick Cushing’s side were just too good for the battling Birmingham team.

It’s the second trophy for Manchester City in a week after they wrapped up the FA Women’s Super League 1 title last weekend with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea last Sunday.
