Man City ‘knocked on door’ of £6.8m-rated 17 y/o averaging a goal or assist every 96 mins

Manchester City have Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva who can operate out wide, but they’re not resting on their laurels.

Fussball Transfers say City have ‘knocked on the door’ of Yusuf Demir and may have to beat out interest from Barcelona and Manchester United to procure his signature.

The 17-year-old has risen through the youth ranks to Rapid Vienna’s first-team and has gone on to make 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and supplying three assists (Transfermarkt).

This season, Demir has scored a goal and made an assist every 96 minutes on average, so his future looks bright in Europe. Rapid are resigned to losing the highly-rated forward and could accept offers around €8m (£6.8m), so he wouldn’t break the bank.

Demir is out of contract at the Allianz Stadion in less than 18 months, so Rapid may have to cash in this summer rather than let his value drop or risk losing him for nothing next year.

Guardiola has named seven teenagers in his matchday squads this season and given playing time to five of them (Transfermarkt), so Demir would be in good hands if he came to Manchester.

Time will tell if City are successful, however.

In other news, Man City may have to pay £34.2m for 18 y/o left-back with more tackles than Walker and Zinchenko
