Manchester City’s Six New Signings

Vital Manchester City member, Wswilly3 sent us the following:

We have been told by the good Chairman that as well as capturing Gareth Barry we can expect five or six more signings. Well let’s be greedy and say six, but who will they be?

First and fairly certainly, Roque Santa Cruz, provided he passes his medical is next in line. Secondly and with a bit of luck and after pinching myself a couple of times, it’s still looking good about Carlos Tevez. An announcement on the Rags official website confirmed he had played his last game for them…as Tony the Tiger says…grrrrr…eat!

I initially had some doubts about whether RSC would fit with Robinho in the same team, but have now decided that this is just the height of pickiness and have let my heart rule my head. Let’s just bring more world class players and Carlos Tevez certainly meets this criterion. Skill and application…wow what a combination! So I hope we all will be saying quite soon ? Carlos, welcome to the Blue half of the City of Manchester where many of the supporters were actually born!

So this leaves us with four other signings and of these, at least two must surely be defenders.

I don’t believe we have been linked with any outside the Premiership, this probably means Lescott and Toure if we can get them. Given the paucity of options, surely we can push the boat out with the cheque book and attract these two.

Lescott in particular would seem to be an excellent signing – he can play centre half and cover for left back. In addition he scores a few goals as well. Toure would also seem to fit the bill and this may lead to his brother joining next year from Barcelona.

Okay, I’m getting ahead of myself, but what great fun! It’s all a bit different from the usual transfer guessing game, with unknown foreign strikers and misfits from other Premiership clubs being the usual offerings. I’m fed up of being like the Union Jack on Buckingham Palace and want hopes, dreams and reality to merge into one for the next few seasons…please, nicely!!

So for the final two – probably a world shattering signing and a reserve goalkeeper or a wide player to give us more options. I would happily settle for Eto’o and Robben, and whilst my heart is still ruling my head, let’s forget the reserve goalkeeper as in my new found optimism.

Shay Given will not get injured, as he will hardly ever be needed behind our defensive fortress. Gosh, I remember when City flattered to deceive and you never knew what was coming next, and I don’t mean Bradbury and McGoldrick. Do you remember those days?

Now you just dream and like a good fairy tale, it will all work out wonderfully.
