Roberto Mancini’s interest in Yaya Toure is no secret at all is it; he’s spoken more than once about being interested in signing him although some reports have said that the Inter Milan hierarchy aren’t so sure about signing a 31-year-old?

Most recently it was claimed that the midfielder was looking to stay with City and move into a role within the club when he retired! It’s been a bit ‘up and down’, to say the least – one-minute he wants to leave, the next he doesn’t but the claims from our title-winning manager are that he feels he does want to leave the Etihad.

If he does then he feels Germany and Italy, with Italy more appealing, are the only challenges left for him so has again made it clear he wants to bring him in if he can in the summer.

‘He’s played in almost every league except Germany and Italy.

‘If, as seems to be the case, he wants to try Serie A we’ll look into the possibility but it won’t be easy.’

You know, I’ve given up trying to work out what will or won’t happen with Toure! But all the while he’s under contract we know that whatever he might want, unless an offer that suits us comes in, he’ll be going nowhere whatever Roberto says….
