Mancini: I Believe

Kippax Cool Cat Roberto Mancini who greeted YaYa TourĂ©’s thumping Cup Final winner with clenched fists then a casual stick of chewing gum is hungry for more City success…

Top level businessmen His Highness Sheikh Mansour and City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak repeatedly prove to the world that they are no mugs.

Their bold removal of Mark Hughes for the 46 year old Italian tactician increasingly looks like a well researched masterstroke.

Time and again the dapper City gaffer reiterates his hunger to win and has steadily assembled a young squad who mirror that craving for success.

The Blues boss has chosen the moment of City’s historic FA Cup win to underline his faith in the stunning transformation the football world is witnessing at Eastlands:

‘City started this project two years ago. I believe in this project…we have a big chance to buy the sort of players United and Chelsea have bought in the past. I don’t know if we can win the title next year because this is difficult, but we can arrive at this target in one or two years if we work well.

‘I love this challenge. You can work hard but still have difficulties during the year. It is not easy to change to another country and have new players, but they have all worked well this year.

‘All these young players can improve. With time, we can be an important team for a long time to come.’

The City boss has been focusing on City’s final two games against Stoke and Bolton since he dined with his family in London on the night of the FA Cup win.

Save for the injured Jerome Boateng and suspended Kolo Toure he has a full strength squad to choose from in the bid to oust crumbling Arsenal from the Premier League’s top three.

City’s players can be sure that Mancio and his eager backroom staff will not allow them to lose the tremendous momentum that they have built up.
