Flanked by Joleon Lescott at his Europa League presser, City boss Roberto Mancini stated that Aris FC’s unbeaten home record in Europe could come to an end tonight…

Aris Thessaloniki have gone 42 years without home defeat at their Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium fortress and have accounted for some of Europe’s top clubs along the way, most notably Europa League champions Atletico Madrid in the last round.

Mancio:

‘There is a first time for everything…I don’t think we will have a problem to bounce back. When you play against United and play well away in a game that you deserve to win but lose, then it’s tough. So it’s important we make sure we win our next game.’

Of team news, the City gaffer confirmed that James Milner, Nigel De Jong and of course Adam Johnson are all absent. However:

‘We have 16 players and have brought Michael Johnson with us but he is not ready, even after a few games for the reserves. Mario Balotelli is also with us but he is not 100 per cent. Shaun Wright-Phillips will be an option against Aris because against United he played well when he came on. It is important Shaun can play because he is our only winger at the moment.’
