Dapper City gaffer Roberto Mancini ran the rule over Alan Pardew’s powerful Newcastle side last night and remains in no doubt that The Citizens are going to have their work cut out at the former St James’ Park on Sunday:
‘Newcastle will be our hardest game, harder than United…they have had a fantastic season and are playing to get into the Champions League. Their manager is one of the best managers here and it will be a tough game. It is another Champions League final on Sunday. We have two against Newcastle and QPR. We have to keep a big concentration until May the 13th.’
You’re not wrong there, boss. What an achievement this would be if City could pull this off having 22 days ago been declared universally as dead and buried in the title race. From a Champions League group of death draw to six consecutive away Premier League fixtures following each of it’s challenges and through ludicrous suspensions from pisspoor refereeing City have been right up against it. However, Mancio continues to call for calm across Planet Blue despite the euphoria surrounding another City exposure of the rags worsening limitations last Monday night:
‘We have done nothing yet. We are at the top but we need to win two games. We need to play well and we need to score if we want to win. United will get six points…it is important our supporters do not think it is finished. We need to be very calm. We need to concentrate on the next game, work well, recover. The message is to keep calm…Nothing has changed.’
