In line with his policy of bringing back players cautiously from injury, Roberto Mancini has revealed he will keep star signing Sergio Aguero in reserve on Sunday…
The dapper City gaffer is not one for cortisone injections for appearances it all costs and Aguero’s post Copa America blistered feet are no exception:
‘Sergio is okay…he is not 100% ready but he is fit to come on the bench.’
However, despite suggesting that neither Manchester club will be giving it both barrels on Sunday in line with Taggart’s deliberations today, Mancio acknowledges the importance of the occasion:
‘It is the first official match of the season. It is important because it is a derby and we want to win, like United. But I don’t think the teams at the moment are one hundred per cent ready to play.’
