Mancio: We Need To Complete The Offload

Roberto Mancini has confirmed at his pre Bolton presser the need to seal the departures of numerous unwanted senior players before the summer transfer window closes…

Our rotating exit door stuck record repeats again the names of Emmanuel Adebayor, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Craig Bellamy, Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz. All Mark Hughes signings and all mired in a big salary, long contract swamp.

Mancio:

‘I did not buy these players and I can only answer for the players that I buy. I tried with these players two years ago but they are not part of my plans now. I am sorry about this because I respect these players, but it is better that I am clear with them.’

The latter three players in the list above are over 26 years old and it’s worth noting that since the Boxing Day that Mancio came to town, City haven’t signed a player over 25 years old in advance of imminent financial regulations.

Carlos Tevez appears to be filed under ‘sort of wanted’ in Mancio’s office but if the deal is right it’s clear he can do one and you won’t find many Blues shedding tears over that departure.

In the meantime, MCFC Academy graduates Nedum Onuoha and Vladimir Weiss are more likely to leave ahead of any knee knacked strikers. Onuoha is being pursued by a number of our rivals and Weiss is heading for Dinamo Kyiv.

Mancio confirmed yesterday that the purchase of Samir Nasri will not be The Citizens final business before August is out. The smart money is on temperamental Fiorentina winger Alessio Cerci joining alongside Nasri.

VMC understands that the Nasri deal has been concluded with a £22 million fee agreed between City and Arsenal days ago, but the hold up has been over a disagreement on the agent fees.
