The majority of you thought he’s done okay since his appointment in June 2008, nevertheless, many of you voiced your opinion and boy, some of them were very reserved – NOT!

Kevinho – The jury is still out for me, so I’ll give him a little bit longer but I don’t think that we should be discussing any contract extensions just yet.
On the plus side I feel that he has bought some good midfielders and strikers, done some good work in the background which we are forever hearing about, made us harder to beat and has weeded out some bad apples from the squad.
On the minus side I’d like to see us win the occasional match at the moment as we haven’t won a league match for ages, he doesn’t seem to know what a decent defender looks like, some of his signings never look like being dropped no matter how badly they play, a lack of substitutions during matches and sometimes negative tactics leave me scratching my head at times.
We all want stability but I think that we need to know that we have the correct man in place before we over commit ourselves here first.
BlueWolfie – I voted, ‘Needs to improve’, because he does. His tactics are off sometimes, and his subs often bemuse and baffle me.
I am still not at the point where I believe he should be replaced, but I am slowly leaning that way. We are doing well, but my main problem is that in some games we have had no fight in us at all, and it is up to Hughes to rekindle or find that fight, which apparently he isn’t doing.
I will re-assess my opinion come the new year.
Bluedub – I went for give him time. I’ve been impressed by his signings but at the moment we are a squad full of quality players, it takes time to build that team spirit with the amount of transfer activity we’ve had in the last year. I am hoping that by the new year we will have gelled properly, and if we are in the same position we are now I expect us to make a really good challenge for a top four spot.
It’s Grim Oop North – Guys, I went for give him time, but I have to say I think this poll could spiral out of control if enough ‘foamers’ call for Hughes’ head – it’s a Pandora’s box that once opened can’t be closed.
Surely the time to judge MH is at the end of the season, or if results plummet drastically, can we not at least have a reasoned debate before resorting to multiple choice answers?
The subject of changing our manager is close to all our hearts, my stance is that stability is key to success, instability almost certainly will bring failure.
Currently, given the club’s position in the league, unbeaten run (not counting away at OT), obvious improvements in infrastructure, excellent team spirit and never say die attitude, we are having our best season for decades.
Why do we need to go public with this poll?
Ostensibly MH is tarred as an ex-rag, yet Carlos Tevez was welcomed with a dirty great big poster in the City centre! From everything Hughesy has said and done from my observations, he’s not in his heart a Rag. He played for them, but he isn’t one.
If anything Hughes is a Barcelona boy – he loves to go and watch them, still got contacts there, and I feel he’d like us to play in their image given time and investment in the right ball – playing players – he does seem to want to buy as many players from them as possible, and Arsenal players who are coached in a similar way.
He certainly doesn’t fawn over SAF like that true Rag apologist Brucie does, and goes out of his way to annoy him laughing at his rants!
Give the guy a fair chance, he’s proven loyal to us so far, how can you build a dynasty with these foreign journeymen coaches?
Who honestly can see Guus Hiddink sticking around to see out a ten year plan – which is what we have according to the club?
A lot of these big name coaches move around the big established clubs so often that the sh*t doesn’t stick on them, (Sven for instance), taking on national team jobs where you’re expected not to win anything anyway, do we want these people heading our club?
Time to re-examine our preconceptions of MH I think.
