Good grief. Rigsby’s agent goes to the Bulgarian press to reveal the player’s ‘disappointment’ that his proposed move to Spurs has fallen through…

Following Petrov’s summer statement to the Bulgarian media that threatened his departure unless he got regular first team football, this will come as a profound let down to a City faithful and indeed club who have stuck by the 30 year old throughout last season’s serious knee injury:

Luchezar Taney told Darik Radio: ‘I can say that Martin wanted to join Tottenham. You see that he has some problems at City and that’s why he decided to look elsewhere and Spurs made an offer for him. But it’s not the end of the world. He has one year of his contract left and we’ll see after that. Manchester City rejected the deal mainly due to manager Mark Hughes’ unwillingness.”

Alongside Javier Garrido, Petrov is one of the last Sven-Goran Eriksson signings to remain on th current City playing strength. Immensely popular, he’s chipped in with invaluable goals on numerous occasions.

Clearly, something is badly wrong and one can’t imagine that he is difficult to manage right now. However, the news that the questionably unstable David Bentely will no longer be coming to East Manchester will see many of us breathe a sigh of relief.

A word for the rag’s Dimitar Berbaflop. He went to the press this week publicly advising Petrov to leave City for Spurs, ‘a bigger club.’

The Dracula lookalike would do well to keep an eye on his own flagging fortunes.
