The Football Association have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Aston Villa this weekend.

Manchester City travel to Aston Villa on Saturday January 30 for the FA Cup fourth round tie at Villa Park and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Michael Jones
Linesmen: Gary Beswick and Adrian Holmes
Fourth Official: James Adcock

Match Day referee Jones (Chester) has officiated two City games this season – the one nil victory over Crystal Palce in September and the four one victory over Hull City in the Capital One Cup in December. In those games he showed seven yellow cards, four to City.

He has however already taken in 22 other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he has handed out a total of 69 yellow cards and one red card.

He was most card happy in the match between Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday on August 22 with a total of six yellows being shown. Six was also the number between Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday and Crystal Palace and Manchester United in October.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
