The Sun newspaper’s Shaun Custis went to press today publishing allegations regarding an email exchange between City and Nedum Onuoha’s mother 11 months ago…
Details of the exchange printed in The Sun which allegedly involve City CEO Garry Cook, Football Administration Officer Brian Marwood and Dr. Anthonia Onuoha suggest that Cook belittled Dr. Onuoha’s serious illness in an email meant for Marwood but which was received by Dr. Onuoha in error. Cook denies he sent the email and states that his account was hacked during his absence in South Africa at that time.
Tonight, City have issued the following statement:
Mon 05 Sep 2011, 6:59PM: ‘Following allegations made to the football club by Dr Anthonia Onuoha, subsequently reported in today`s media, the Club can confirm that a board led review has been launched into the matter.’
All at VMC wish Dr. Onuoha a full recovery and hope that the matter will be resolved as soon as possible.
