Manchester City are at home for their final game of the season and after missing out on the Europa League, they play purely for pride and the possibility of a 9th place finish.

Bolton have done well under Garry Megson this season and have finished comfortably out of the relegation battle.

It is a match with nothing on the line so fans of both City and Bolton will be hoping to finish on a high note.

The question on everyones mind will surely be: ‘Will Berti finally get to play?’.

Vital Quotes:

With this season coming to a close and nothing left to play for, Mark Hughes reiterated his ambitions for City, stating: ‘We will strive for a top-six finish next season

‘That is important because it would represent progression.

‘We are trying to improve at a steady rate and we feel sixth would be attainable next year. In fact, if our away form had been better this year, we would have come close this season.’

Bolton are safe from relegation and their manager Gary Megson said: ‘We have had a good season with the resources that we have available.

‘Next season we have to change things, we need a lot more players coming into the club.

‘In my time here we have had thirty players go out with only nine coming in. Our next move has to be about getting more players in.’

Manchester City FC Team News:

Fan favourite Shaun Wright-Phillips is ruled out with a knee problem which requires surgery, this means Elano will retain his place in the side.

Stephen Ireland and a number of players contracted the flu this week but are likely to have recovered in time for the game.

Player to watch: Robinho

Robinho just loves to show off his football skills.

With this being the last game of the season, the samba star will be hoping to leave his mark.

Bolton Wanderers Team News:

Defender Andy O’Brien has been declared fit after recovering from illness although Ricardo Gardner remains out with a hamstring injury.

Player to watch: Kevin Davies

32-year-old Kevin Davies may not be as high profile as Anelka but he has certainly aided Bolton with an impressive 12 goals.

With plenty of experience behind the Bolton striker, the City defense will certainly need to keep an eye on him.

Match Facts & Stats

Manchester City have lost the last three of their final games of the season.

A 15th win of the season will equal City’s best in the top-flight.

Victory over City will secure Bolton’s second ever Premier League double over them.

Ref Watch:

Controversial referee Mark Clattenburg officiates this clash, expect the unexpected.

Match Prediction:

Neither side has anything left to play for but I don’t think Bolton will lie down. Expect tight defending and a boring Bolton performance as they play for a draw. If City can score first, they will run riot as I think Mark Hughes will be hoping to give disappointed City fans something to cheer about. Manchester City will be going all out for this final game, too little too late some might say, but can they break down a resolute Bolton? I think so, and I predict MCFC 3-0 Bolton.
