Talk of Manchester City’s striking striker Carlos Tevez moving to Italy is intensifying amid reports that his agent in all but name has met AC Milan’s hierarchy…

The AWOL Tevez, who did one to Argentina over a fortnight ago never to return remains not only the subject of half arsed debate in Manchester but now of renewed interest in Italy.

The man on every Blue’s Christmas card list, Kia Joorabchian, Tevez’s career adviser, allegedly spent Thursday in Milan with AC’s vice-president, Adriano Galliani.

One thing’s for sure, if Milan do secure Tevez’s input in some way or form this season, their fitness coaches will have a job on.

City afforded Tevez 21 days rest as requested following the Copa America this year and subsequently the player who has fallen out of favour with the Argentine national side returned to Manchester 6kg heavier by his own admission. The rest is history.

City gaffer Roberto Mancini, preparing for the important mission to Merseyside thsi weekend was quizzed by hacks over Tevezgate but played a straight bat:

‘I do not want to speak about Carlos Tevez. I will answer no questions about him.’
