Morning After The Night Before

I watched Manchester City concede two late goals against Real Madrid last night and when the referee blew for full time my heart sank into the depths of despair.

I woke up this morning still feeling exhausted, gutted and lifeless but why?

Twice in the match City went into the lead, Joe Hart performed magnificently and Yaya Toure did what he does best by bulldozing through the oppositions midfield…but still that wasn’t enough.

Sitting in the pub with Liverpool and Man Utd fans either side of me was bad enough but even they were amazed we came away with nothing. I applaud scouser brothers Dave and Paul, and Irish Ray (Rag) for treating me without contempt. Funny thing is, I only had two pints of real ale all night and this morning I feel as though I was on a bender. Perhaps I should return my hospitality if and when Manchester United (tonight) and Liverpool (tomorrow) come croppers .

Dortmund and Ajax will not be pushovers but I have the faith – MCFC will qualify to the next stage of the Champions League that I’m sure of.
