Manchester City returned to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday evening and Nathan Ake was one of many who impressed.
The 27-year-old started in a makeshift left-back role but had the most tackles, most interceptions, second-most clearances and third-best pass-completion ratio, so he can be happy with his performance.
Simon Bajkowski of the Manchester Evening News gave Ake a player rating of 7/10 and said he was one of City’s best performers despite not being as effective in the attacking third. BBC Sport viewers gave a collective player rating of 6.8/10 while SofaScore gave Ake a rating of 7.3/10.
Against Tottenham, the Dutch international had 81 touches, completed 91.4% of his 58 passes, created one chance, whipped in one cross, made six tackles, had three interceptions and made two clearances. Joao Cancelo was an unused substitute on Thursday, but Ake’s performance vindicated the decision.
In other news, Rodri had mixed performance in Manchester City’s 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur
