With just under three weeks to go until he brings his title contenders to Manchester, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has talked up City’s capabilities once more…
One thing for sure is that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger won’t like it having recently dismissed Mourinho’s suggestion that the City juggernaut is unstoppable but Manchester’s Blues are under more pressure than anyone else. For his part, City manager Manuel Pellegrini offered a shoulder shrugging response to these assertions.
This week Mourinho has heaped further praise upon a City squad which is currently brimming with confidence and swagger but remains one point behind league leaders Arsenal and only one point ahead of Chelsea. Highlights of Mourinho’s latest lavish praise registered via The Laandaarn Evening Stannit include:
‘It would be my greatest achievement if we beat City to the title this year. City, in terms of power of the squad, are in another dimension. You cannot compare their situation with any other club…They are in the perfect moment. They do not have old players or young players other than Nastasic…all of them are between 25 and 29, everyone in the best moment. The number of players they have at the same level is amazing. The physicality adapted to the Premier League is amazing. They have four strikers, all of them are top class and the one on the pitch is always scoring.’
It will be interesting to see how The Engineer reacts when the hacks predictably quiz him about the Chelsea manager’s public admiration for his squad this week…
