Munich … Shut them Up!

Much has been written in the last few weeks with regards the minutes silence in Sunday’s derby game. Indeed such has been the press coverage you could be mistaken for believing the minute’s silence was the main feature with the game little more than a side issue.

There is little doubt in my mind that City’s supporters have been set up for a fall. A full two weeks ago several discreditable newspapers were already lambasting City’s support for something that they haven’t done.

Yes the issue is sensitive, and the timing of the game badly planned, but to vilify a set off supporters on what may happen is nothing short of the shoddy journalism that is now rife in this country.

I know there are pockets of undesirable elements within City’s support, but likewise there are elements within United’s support that would like nothing more than to goad a response.

The best response from all blues if your at the game? Show your respect for those that died. Forget the goading and United’s commercial exploitation of the dead. They didn’t ask for that when their lives were ended at Munich.

Keep quiet and show that City are a classier outfit off the pitch than United ever could be. Most of all respect all 23 of those that died.
