Samir Nasri has today signed a new five year deal at Manchester City.

The Frenchman joined us from Arsenal back in 2011, and clearly he’s happy at the club as he’s now secured his long term future with us until the summer of 2019.

Having taken part in 129 games so far us, he has contributed 22 goals – 11 of which came last season.

In his three years at the club so far he has won two Premier League titles and the League Cup, and the 27 year old has said he’s delighted to have committed the best years of his career to the club.

Speaking to the Official Site as the speculated deal was finally confirmed, he said.

‘I’m really happy to have signed this contract and to have committed my future with City. I’m 27 now and if you listen to some of the best managers in the game, they say that a midfield player’s best years are between 27 and 30 so I hope that I will give my best years to City.’

Nasri goes on to say that it did take him some time to adjust to life in Manchester, because it was a huge change from his experiences in London, but last year he felt comfortable and he felt that everything off pitch truly clicked for him and that obviously played a part in his form and his goal scoring successes for us.

‘I enjoyed my football and I love living in Manchester, feel very settled and I think that showed on the pitch. That’s why I’ve agreed this new contract – because I feel very much at home.’
