New deal will see Man City man be 4th highest earner, will be paid more than Silva and Mahrez

Phil Foden will become Manchester City’s fourth highest earner when his new deal is confirmed. Ekrem Konur says the 22-year-old has ‘reached an agreement’ with City over a contract extension worth £250k-per-week, putting him ahead of Bernardo Silva (£150k-per-week) and Riyad Mahrez (£120k-per-week).

Foden has made 10 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals with two assists. Last season, the England international scored 14 goals with 11 assists from 45 games across the board, so he’s more than deserving of an improved deal.

The 22-year-old is out of contract at the end of next season, so City are trying to protect their assets by ensuring he’s tied down for the long-term. And given Foden has played in every game this campaign, outperforming Jack Grealish and Mahrez on the pitch, he deserves to be paid on par with City’s biggest stars.

Foden is believed to be earning £65k-per-week, so his new deal will be more than triple what he takes home.
