Manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that the only injury issue we have ahead of the game against Stoke is Alvaro Negredo.

Outside of his known injury, everybody else within the team is fit and raring to go for our final game ahead of the international break.

However, speaking to the Official Site Pellegrini did say that didn’t mean that everybody within the playing squad was available and in contention for the game.

With news circulating that Sergio Aguero had picked up an injury, the gaffer was quick to dismiss those suggestions confirming that he would be in the squad again as he continues to build his own fitness, but confirmed also that Eliaquim Mangala is still not fit enough yet to be in contention for his debut.

‘Just Alvaro Negredo is injured but the rest of the squad have no problems. Sergio Aguero is absolutely fine. Mangala is not in the squad for tomorrow by Kun is – we’ll see how many minutes he will play.’

As for the game itself, Pellegrini said he was exepcting another tough test from Mark Hughes boys, pointing to the games last season and what a difficult team they can be to break down.

‘Last year in our best moment we only won one nil. I am sure they will come here to make a tough game for us and we will have to play very well to win.’

Having slightly talked them up, he did end by saying that ‘we are a strong team’ and true modest style ‘as strong as five or six teams in England’.

His press conference also covered the Champions League draw, but he said he was confident again that we could reach the latter stages of the competition, but obviously it’s a very tough group again and he’s expecting it to be similar to last year.

Finally he confirmed that Scott Sinclair, Micah Richards and John Guidetti will not be part of his squad for this season as long expected, but as yet, the club are still to receive offers for those players.
